A non-operational Job (e.g., for light-duty, special project …) can be created in the schedule just like any other job. There are several ways that this scenario may be handled. The simplest method would be to create a new shift pattern (e.g., like a M-F shift) with a non-operational reason that reflects what the employee is doing (e.g., light-duty, special assignment, etc.), then duplicate the employee’s original job assignment and change the shift pattern in the duplicate to the non-operational one. In this way, the occupation will be consistent on the Employee’s timecard for compensation.
